Proliga 2025 Presents Tight Competition with 90 Matches
Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – The Indonesian professional volleyball competition Proliga 2025, which is organized by the Indonesian Volleyball Association (PBVSI), is predicted to be an event full of fierce competition. Presenting 90 matches, Proliga 2025 will start in January next year, with five men’s teams and seven women’s teams ready to compete for the championship title.
General Chairperson of PP PBVSI, Komjen Pol Imam Sudjarwo, revealed that this event will take place from January 3 to May 11 2025. “The 2025 Proliga will be no less prestigious than the previous edition. Competition will be even tighter because the participating teams have an even distribution of players, both local and foreign players,” he said in a press conference Tuesday (17/12/2024).
Imam also hopes that this event can produce talented young players who can later strengthen the Indonesian national team, especially in the U-21 World Championship which will take place in August 2025. Indonesia will also host the women’s sector.
He added that there is a match break between 23 February and 17 April 2025, which is adjusted to coincide with the months of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr. “This break provides an opportunity for players to prepare themselves,” said Imam.
Proliga 2025 organizer Hanny S Surkatty ensured that, even though it was attended by five men’s teams and seven women’s teams, the quality of the matches was maintained. “There is no easy team. All matches will be tight because the players who appear are the best,” he said.
The 2025 Proliga will involve a number of top teams, such as Jakarta Bhayangkara Presisi, Jakarta Lavani Livin Transmedia, Palembang Bank Sumselbabel, Jakarta Garuda Jaya, and Surabaya Samator in the men’s sector. In the women’s sector, there are Jakarta Electric PLN, Jakarta Popsivo Polwan, Jakarta Pertamina Enduro, Gresik Petrokimia Pupuk Indonesia, Bandung BJB Tandamata, Jakarta Livin Mandiri, as well as the newcomer team Yogya Falcons.
The 2025 Proliga competition phase will start on January 3 2025, with the first round consisting of 31 matches. After that, the competition will continue into the second round with 31 more matches.
The four best teams in the men’s and women’s sectors will advance to the Final Four which is divided into three phases, each with a total of 8 matches.
The 2025 Proliga grand final will take place on 10 May 2025 for the women’s sector and 11 May 2025 for the men’s sector.
