Provisional Standings for SEA Games Medal Acquisition: Earned 8 Gold, Indonesia Second Place

The 2023 Southeast Asian Games or SEA Games which will be held in Cambodia have entered its second day. Indonesia is in second place in the provisional medal standings until Saturday (6/5/2023).

A total of 8 gold made Indonesia shot to second place, trailing the hosts who lead with 19 gold, 11 silver and 10 bronze. Indonesia’s position is overshadowed by Thailand and the Philippines, which both collected 7 gold.

The Philippines is in fourth place with 7 gold, 9 silver and 13 bronze. Completing Vietnam’s top five with 5 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze.

Indonesia got 8 gold, one of which was from Indonesian women’s marathon athlete Odekta Elvina Naibaho. The Batak-blooded runner donated gold in the women’s marathon number, not only had to face tough competitors, she also had to fight the air of 37 degrees Celsius. After becoming the fastest among the other participants in the women’s marathon, she had to crash.

On the second day of the 2023 SEA Games, Indonesia needs more gold to avoid the pursuit of the three countries that are trailing behind. One branch that has the opportunity to become a gold mine today is swimming.

A number of Indonesia’s top swimmers will compete in the arena, such as I Gede Siman Sudartawa who will compete in the men’s 50-meter backstroke specialist with Farrell Armandio Tangkas.
