PSM Wins Narrowly Against PSBS Despite Disallowed Goal

Gianyar, Todaysgist.com – PSM Makassar managed to secure three points after defeating PSBS Biak with a score of 2-1 in the second match of the 2024/2025 Indonesian League 1 which was held at the Captain I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Gianyar, Bali, on Friday (16/8/2024) afternoon.

PSM Makassar, as the away team, started the match aggressively under the supervision of referee Muhammad Iqballuddin. Their fast attack resulted in the first goal scored by striker Nermin Haljeta.

The player with the number 99 on his back scored a goal in the 10th minute, taking advantage of a ball that escaped the grasp of PSBS Biak goalkeeper, Mariyo Londok.

Not remaining silent, the home team known as Badai Pasifik tried to retaliate by attacking PSM’s defense line. However, their efforts failed to penetrate PSM’s tight defense playing in red uniforms.

The score of 1-0 for PSM’s temporary advantage lasted until the first half ended.

Entering the second half, PSBS Biak wearing a turquoise uniform began to show fiercer resistance. Five minutes after the second half started, they managed to equalize through a goal scored by Pablo Arganaraz.

The player with the number 28 on his back took advantage of a pass from Alexandro Perreira in the 50th minute, directing the ball into the PSM goal guarded by Hilman Syah.

PSBS Biak had several golden opportunities, one of which was created by Pablo Arganaraz in the 75th minute, but PSM’s defense managed to thwart the attacks.

The match became more exciting with the attacking action from both teams. In the 76th minute, Adilson Gancho from PSM headed the ball into the PSBS Biak goal which was initially considered a goal. However, after the referee used VAR assistance, the goal was disallowed, so the score remained 1-1.

Towards the end of the match, both teams played more intensely in front of 578 spectators. PSM Makassar finally managed to score the winning goal in stoppage time through striker Abdul Rahman in the 94th minute, changing the score to 2-1.

With this victory, PSM Makassar has collected six points, while PSBS Biak has yet to get a point after suffering two defeats, including a previous defeat to Persib Bandung with a score of 1-4 in the opening match of Liga 1.
