PSSI Holds Press Conference This Afternoon, Announces Shin Tae-yong’s Dismissal?

Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – Coach Shin Tae-yong’s future with the Indonesian National Team is facing uncertainty. Even though he is still under contract until 2027, it is widely reported that Shin Tae-yong will be dismissed by PSSI.

There has been no official confirmation from PSSI regarding this matter. However, PSSI plans to hold a press conference at the Danareksa Tower, Medan Merdeka, Jakarta, at 12.00 WIB. In the invitation received by Beritasatu.com, PSSI will announce new plans regarding the development of the Indonesian National Team.

It is very likely that this press conference will also provide certainty regarding Shin Tae-yong’s future. The plan is that this press conference will be attended by PSSI General Chair Erick Thohir, PSSI Deputy Chair I Zainudin Amali, PSSI Secretary General Yunus Nusi and Indonesian National Team manager Sumardji.

Previously, PSSI Exco member Vivin Cahyani emphasized that until now there had been no official stance from the federation regarding Shin Tae-yong.

“Until now there has been no official decision from PSSI,” wrote Vivin in a short message to media crew regarding the issue of Shin Tae-yong’s dismissal.

According to him, PSSI does have a big target, namely to bring the Indonesian National Team to compete in the 2026 World Cup. Therefore, continued Vivin, the federation will be open to all options as long as squad Garuda can compete on the quadrennial stage. Practically, selecting players and changing coaches are also included as options referred to by Vivin.

Rumors of Shin Tae-yong’s dismissal became louder after a member of Exco Kairul Anwar posted an account on his account @khairulanwar_1 said goodbye to STY.
