Rinov/Pitha Defeat South Korean Representatives in First Action

Jakarta, Todaysgist.com – Mixed doubles Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtas Mentari successfully won their first action at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Saturday (27/7/2024).

Playing at Porte della Chapelle Arena, Paris, the 13th ranked pair successfully defeated South Korean representatives Kin Hon-wo/Jeong Na-eun with a score of 22-20, 14-21, and 21-19. They successfully won after struggling for 71 minutes.

In the first game of the badminton match, an exciting duel occurred when Rinov/Pitha played against the eighth ranked pair. Both pairs managed to defend well when their opponents attacked. Several times the score was tied.

The two pairs eventually drew at 20-20 and there was a settings. Rinov/Pitha then won two consecutive points by finishing the first game 22-20 in 25 minutes.

In the second game, Kim/Jeong managed to bounce back. They managed to control the game and turn the tables. In this second set, the South Korean pair managed to defeat Rinov/Pitha with a score of 21-14 in 17 minutes.

In the third game, Rinov/Pitha tried to improve their performance. Both tried to minimize mistakes and successfully collected points. Their excellent smash and ball placement made them successfully finish this deciding game with a narrow score of 21-19.

Next, Rinov/Pitha will meet the world’s number one mixed doubles Zhang Si Wei/Huang Ya Qiong on Sunday (28/7/2024) starting at 19.00 WIB. They will compete in the final match of the preliminary round against the host’s representatives Thom Gicquel/Delphine Delrue on Monday (29/7/2024).

In the previous match, two Indonesian representatives experienced different fates. The women’s doubles Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti surrendered to Japanese representatives Mayu Matsumoto/Wakana Nagahara with a score of 22-14 and 15-21.

Meanwhile, the men’s doubles Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto successfully secured victory in their first action at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

In the first badminton match in group C, Fajar/Rian defeated German representatives Mark Lamsfuss/Marvin Seidel with a score of 21-13 and 21-17. The Red and White representatives won after struggling for 34 minutes.
