Roberto Carlos to Marco Materazzi Pump Up the Fighting Spirit of Prospective Indonesian U-16 National Team Players

Liputan6.com, Jakarta- World soccer legends are in Indonesia this week. Roberto Carlos, Eric Abdidal, Juan Sebastian Veron, Marco Materazzi to Georgios Karagounis attended the BRIMo Future Garuda event in Jakarta on Tuesday (30/5/2023) evening WIB.

On this occasion, the five world football legends held a talk show with the general chairman of PSSI, Erick Thohir, discussing their career journeys, witnessed by prospective Indonesian U-16 national team players and young players from various SSBs in the capital. In the talkshow hosted by Azizah Hanum, Roberto Carlos and friends discussed the motivations of young Indonesian players with the touching stories of their career journeys.

“We made this event because we want to provide an example for these children to learn from. I want to tell you, the legends in front of this, all of them are nobody. But they become somebody when they have big dreams and fight to achieve those dreams,” said Erick Thohir on event at the BRILian Stadium.

These legends of world football then revealed the initial story of building a career as a world famous soccer player. Many interesting stories are presented which are hoped to trigger the motivation of potential U-16 Indonesian national team players to continue pursuing their dreams of becoming reliable soccer players in the future. They also provided valuable input for these prospective U-16 Indonesian national team players to emulate.

Roberto Carlos for example, the former Real Madrid player, recounted how hard his initial struggle to pursue football was because he came from a remote village in Brazil.

“The important thing is not to be afraid and to quickly learn from other senior players. In Brazil, we always practice after seeing the actions of good players,” said Carlos.
