Rudy Hartono is again a victim of death issues, here’s the chronology

Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – Indonesian badminton legend Rudy Hartono has been reported to have died several times. This news also circulated again on Tuesday (3/12/2024) via the WhatsApp group. Even though it was Rudi Hartono who died, not Rudy Hartono.

In information circulating on the WhatsApp group, it was stated that Mr Tan Sui Seng (Rudi Hartono) had passed away on Monday (2/12/2024) at 08.21 WIB at Eka Hospital Permata Hijau. Rudi Hartono, who died, was 87 years old.

Badminton commentator Broto Happy Wondomisnowo denied that the figure who died and whose information was circulating in the WhatsApp group was badminton legend Rudy Hartono.

“Not Rudy Hartono Kurniawan, the eight-time All England champion maestro. Look at the photo, the spelling of his name and his age, that is not Mas Rudy, the Indonesian badminton hero,” said Broto Happy Wondomisnowo, Tuesday (3/12/2024).

Previously, on March 10 2018, Rudy Hartono was also reported to have died. At that time, this information also spread quickly on social media. The Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) immediately clarified that the news was a hoax or lie. Rudy Hartono’s condition at that time was still healthy.

In November 2018, Rudy Hartono was again reported to have died. Information circulating on WhatsApp even included a narrative about Rudy Hartono who fainted after exercising at one of the fitness centers at Pondok Indah Mall. Rudy Hartono immediately denied this false news.

Rudy Hartono was born with the name Nio Hap Liang on August 18 1949. He won the world championship in 1980 and the All England eight times in the 1960s and 1970s. In contrast to the age of Rudi Hartono, who was reported to have died, Rudy Hartono, the badminton maestro, is currently 75 years old.
