SEA Games Medal Winners Ask the Government to Pay Attention to the Future of Athletes

– A Wushu athlete from Salatiga City who won a gold medal in the 2023 Cambodia SEA Games paraded around Salatiga City, Central Java.

The athletes, namely Laksmana Pandu Pratama, won a gold medal in Wushu number sanda in the 52-kilogram class and Bintang Reindra Nada Guitara won a gold medal in sanda number in the 56-kilogram class.

Even though they have won the SEA Games, they both hope that the local government can think about the future of these athletes.

Before being paraded around the city, the athletes were greeted directly by the Acting Mayor of Salatiga at the Papak Building of the Salatiga City Government, Central Java and each received a prize in the form of money from the Salatiga City Government.

Wushu athlete, Pandu revealed that getting a gold medal and making the nation proud is not easy. Of course, this process is of particular concern to the government.

The reason is that currently Pandu is still thinking about the future to have a clear and permanent job.

“In the future, we want to get decent jobs, such as being civil servants like our other seniors. So it’s good, we’re not thinking about the future, so we focus more on our field, it can be even better,” Pandu said Beritasatu.comFriday (19/5/2023).

This desire is not without reason, because he has focused on sports since he was small and has won various sports and even at the international level.

“A number of events the big one is we haven’t got the future. It still depends, we are still thinking what we want to be. Even though we have gone all out in this sport and have achieved to defend the country, “he said.

According to him, winning the SEA Games was not easy, because he did it training center in China for two months he even suffered an ear injury.

“Work hard there, endure hunger too. Because we lower it weight. Nah sick, because someone else is injured, like me who has an earache. Every exercise there is swelling, “he said.

This is a form of the state’s support for outstanding athletes.

“They are in college, so we encourage it for convenience with the university. I signed the letter directly to the chancellor,” said Sinoeng.

To improve the quality of athletes in achieving achievements, he will create a sports center with the hope that this place will be used to hold something related to sports.
