Semen Padang FC Releases Four Players Ahead of the Second Round of Liga 1 2024/2025

Padang, Beritasatu.com – Semen Padang FC has officially announced that it will not extend the contracts of four of its players ahead of the second round of the 2024/2025 Indonesian League 1. This decision was conveyed by Semen Padang FC Assistant Manager Maskur Rauf, Friday (3/1/2025).

“Yes, it is true that there are several players who have not continued with us until the end of the league,” said Maskur Rauf.

The four players released were Miftah Anwar Sani, Miswar Saputra, Madon and Al Muzanni. Miftah’s contract expired in the middle of the season, while the other three are certain not to continue working with the club nicknamed “Kabau Sirah”.

Maskur Rauf said that this decision was the result of management evaluation to improve the team’s performance in the second round.

“Their contracts were not extended. However, we would like to thank them for their dedication while joining and fighting with Semen Padang FC,” he said.

Even though their performance is considered quite good, this step was taken as an effort to improve the squad. Maskur also added that evaluations are still ongoing, including decisions regarding other players whose contracts have not been extended.

We will announce decisions regarding the players retained or released before the Indonesian League 1 resumes,” he said.

Apart from local players, Semen Padang FC is also assessing the contribution of foreign players to the team. This evaluation is carried out to ensure the team remains competitive and able to survive in League 1.

Currently, Semen Padang FC is ranked 17th out of 18 Indonesian League 1 teams. It is hoped that this step will bring positive changes to the team and support their target of remaining in the highest caste of Indonesian football.
