Signs New Contract, Ramsdale at Arsenal until 2026

– Arsenal have confirmed that goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale has signed a new long-term contract at the Emirates. The England international goalkeeper joins the Gunners from Sheffield United two years ago.

Ramsdale has been one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League in his 76 appearances in all competitions for the north London outfit.

With this new contract, Ramsdale will be at Arsenal until 2026, with the option of an additional year.

“It’s a great pride, it’s something you fight for. It doesn’t matter if you’ve been at the club for one month or four years, you always want to get to the next one and move forward with the team,” Ramsdale was quoted as saying. 90MinFriday t(19/5/2023).

“To get it after two years, I’m happy. It means I can concentrate and keep my head down, and hopefully after a few more years I’ll get it again and continue the dream in club football,” he added.

Ramsdale’s new contract was also welcomed by Coach Mikel Arteta. “We are all very pleased Aaron has signed a new contract. Aaron’s development over the last two years has been outstanding, with his performances, contribution and adaptation to the club as a whole,” said Arteta.

“It is great that we continue to build for the future with the best talent in our young squad. We are all looking forward to enjoying Aaron’s many more years as a player and a person at this football club,” he added.

Ramsdale quickly overtook Bernd Leno as the club’s first-choice keeper upon his arrival. He has been a key part of Arsenal’s title campaign this season, making superb saves on a regular basis and racking up 13 clean sheets in the Premier League so far.
