Simeone Praises Griezmann for Scoring 2 Goals

Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – Coach Diego Simeone praised Antoine Griezmann who led the hosts to a 4-3 win in the Atletico vs Sevilla match in the Spanish League competition, Monday (9/12/2024) early morning WIB.

Los Rojiblancos was trailing 1-3 in the final 30 minutes of the match at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium. However, Griezmann then managed to maximize the counter-attack which brought the hosts to victory at the end of the match.

Sevilla then recovered and scored three goals thanks to the actions of Dodi Lukebakio in the 12th minute, Isaac Romero (32), and Juanlu Sanchez (57). Even though they were 1-3 behind, the hosts did not give up.

They recovered thanks to three goals each scored by Antoine Griezmann in the 62nd minute, and Samuel Lino when the match entered the 79th minute. Diego Simeone’s team ensured victory thanks to the second goal scored by Antoine Griezmann in the 90+4 minute.

The veteran forward scored two goals in this Atletico vs Sevilla match, including the winning goal in the 94th minute, which caused a stir at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium. This was his seventh goal in the 2024/25 Spanish League season. Simeone made a tactical change in the second half by bringing on Alexander Sorloth to strengthen the front line.

Griezmann dropped into midfield late in the game and his movement caused chaos in Sevilla’s back line. The 33 year old player showed his class as a senior player.

“There are different players and he is one of them. In the second half he improved, when we put him in the middle he felt better. “That’s how the fourth goal was scored,” said Simeone as quoted from US Diary.

“We love him very much, he is a child who always gives everything for Atletico.” Simeone is expected to continue his policy of rotating Griezmann for certain matches towards the end of a busy 2024 for Atletico Madrid.

After the Atletico vs Sevilla match, Simeone’s troops will compete in the Champions League against visiting team Slovan Bratisalva. Next, Atletico will face Getafe and Spanish League leaders Barcelona to close December 2024.
