Solana Integrates AI into Blockchain, Pockets Grants up to USD 10 Million

Previously, Solana Labs Inc, the company behind the Solana blockchain ecosystem, announced their smartphone named Saga will be available for purchase on May 8, 2023, with pre-order shipping on April 20, 2023.

Quoted from Bitcoin.com, Monday (17/4/2023), as stated by the Twitter account Solana Mobile, this smartphone aims to modernize the way people interact with their digital assets to improve usability and improve security.

The smartphone comes with several decentralized applications (dapps) pre-installed and runs on the Android 13 operating system.

The phone includes a Seed Vault for securely storing crypto assets and offers 512GB of storage. The 6.67-inch OLED screen is paired with a fingerprint scanner for extra security.

The device charges using a USB type C cable and has a 50MP and 12MP ultrawide dual camera system. Seed Vault ensures private key protection through secure hardware and AES encryption.

Supported by the “Solana Mobile Stack,” this Web3 smartphone for USD 1,000 or the equivalent of IDR 14.78 million (assuming an exchange rate of IDR 14,782 per US dollar) also offers the Solana Dapp Store which currently hosts 16 dapps which include NFT, DAO, staking, and much more.

The Solana Saga isn’t the first crypto-centric phone. Previous examples include the Exodus HTC, the native crypto-integrated Samsung Galaxy S10 app, and Siren Labs’ USD 999 blockchain smartphone Finney.

Even though the Exodus and Finney concepts failed to gain traction, Samsung still offers the Samsung Blockchain Keystore SDK for the Android system. Cupertino-based first privacy technology company, OSOM, made the Solana Saga phone.

Founded by former Essential employee Jason Keats, OSOM recently closed a Series A funding round in partnership with Solana Mobile, raising USD 25 million or equivalent to Rp. 369.5 billion on September 9, 2022, according to Pitchbook data.
