The Kingdom of Bhutan is making a name for itself on the global stage by integrating Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies into its economic strategy. The newly created Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC)a special administrative region, announced plans to include digital assets such as Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH) and BNB in your strategic reserves.

Bhutan seeks to expand its mining infrastructure with a project that sees an increase of 500 megawatts by mid-2025. The partnership with the group Bitdeer Technologies reflects the country’s commitment to balancing technological innovation with sustainability.
In March 2025, the GMC will host a high-level meeting to discuss expanding strategic reserves of digital assets and establishing a international advisory committee.
