Spectator Riots Occurred As Persib Defeated Persija

Jakarta, Todaysgist.com – There was a riot among the audience after the match between Persib Bandung and Persija Jakarta, at the Si Jalak Harupat Stadium, Bandung Regency, Monday (23/9/2024) afternoon.

The riot did not occur between the two clubs’ supporters because according to PSSI regulations, visiting team supporters are still not allowed to attend.

The riot was triggered by an attack by a group of spectators who were dissatisfied with management’s statement regarding the behavior of the steward towards Persib female supporters.

In the X Indonesia Hooligans account, it was explained that the riot was triggered by a group of Bobotoh who demanded clarity from management regarding alleged harassment by steward against female Bobotoh as well as allegations of intimidation and abuse of Bobotoh by players and staff in the changing room.

Several security personnel then entered the field to calm the situation. Chaos was seen in the north and south stands of the stadium located in Soreang.

PSSI Executive Committee Arya Sinulingga also commented on the chaos. “Legal action will still be taken for those who are part of the legal realm. However, the club will also take action as soon as possible,” he explained.

“On the other hand, if there is a criminal act, then it will be prosecuted according to the law,” he said.

Arya also emphasized that acts of violence on the field will not be tolerated.
