Sponsorship Soars, Committee Increases 2024 President’s Cup Prize Pool to IDR 250 Million Each

Todaysgist.com, Jakarta Indonesia’s prestigious pre-season football event, the 2024 President’s Cup, has made another surprise near the end of the competition. Steering Committee (SC) Chairman Maruarar Sirait announced an increase in the prize money for the champion club, each by Rp250 million.

The decision was made following a spike in sponsorship value for this edition of the President’s Cup. In a press conference ahead of the competition, the committee had initially only pocketed support of Rp48 billion.

Maruarar Sirait also assessed that the increase in sponsorship was inseparable from the services of participating clubs, players, managers, and supporters who were able to maintain order during the match. Therefore, as a form of appreciation, the Chairman of the SC Piala Presiden 2024 announced an increase in prizes of Rp250 million for each champion.

“We also have to be transparent, if there are more sponsors, it is also thanks to the services of the club, players, managers, supporters. Just imagine if (the supporters) fight, who would want to give sponsors?” said Maruarar Sirait.

“So we are responsible together. Champion 1, Champion 2, Champion 3, Champion 4, we will all increase (the prize by) 250 million rupiah. Hopefully it can be useful,” continued the man who is familiarly called Ara.
