Statistics of Megawati’s ‘Red Sparks’ which ranks first in attack success rate

Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – The South Korean Volleyball League or V-League season 2024/2025 has only been running for 3 weeks. Together with Daejeon Jung Kwan Jang Red Sparks, Megawati Hangestri Pertiwi performed impressively to lead the team to win every match.

In the four matches that the Red Sparks have played this season, Megawati has recorded 83 points with an attack success rate of 49.01%. Megawati is in first place in attack success rate, and fifth in points scored.

Last season, her attack success rate reached 43%, but this time it almost touched 50% above South Korean volleyball queen Kim Yeon Kyung and other foreign players. What’s the secret?

According to Megawati, her hitting accuracy in the V-League this season cannot be separated from help setters Yeom Hye-sun.

“I wouldn’t have been able to do it without (Yeom) Hye-sun’s help. This is an achievement that I couldn’t have achieved alone. My colleagues at Red Sparks really understand what each other wants,” said Megawati, quoted from NaverMonday (4/11/2024).

Megawati added that even though she was late joining Red Sparks because she had to complete the 2024 Proliga and 2024 SEA V-League, she quickly adapted to the team.

“Even though I joined at the end of the season, we have been together for a long time, namely around 9 months (in the previous season). With this togetherness, we understand each other,” said Megawati.

In her second year in the V-League, Megawati feels able to face all challenges thanks to her colleagues who always train hard and fight together.

In the fourth match against Hi-Pass at Gimcheon Indoor Gymnasium, Sunday (3/11/2024), Red Sparks won convincingly with a set score of 3-0 (25-22, 29-27, and 25-22). In this match, Megawati was crowned most valuable player (MVP) with 23 points and an attack success rate of 56%.

The Red Sparks are temporarily in second place behind the Pink Spiders with nine points from three wins and one loss.

Last season, Megawati played in 35 matches and managed to collect 736 points with an attack success rate of 43.95%. Megawati is in second place in serving, fourth in attack effectiveness and seventh in points.
