The Polish developer Bloober Team, responsible for The Medium, Layers of Fear, and Blair Witch, announced that the remake of Silent Hill 2 for PS5 and PC is almost ready.
“Silent Hill 2 is technically ready”, revealed the company’s CEO, Piotr Babieno, in an interview with PAP Business (via Bankier). “It doesn’t mean the game is finished, but we’re close.”
“However, the issue of the release schedule is the responsibility of our partners (Konami), so how it will be released and when it will be released is not directly up to us.”
The Silent Hill 2 remake is being made in Unreal Engine 5 and will have an over-the-shoulder camera, which should make for better gameplay. The combat system and some scenarios are also being rebuilt.
Konami said the original game’s creators such as art director Masahiro Ito and composer Akira Yamaoka are “closely” involved in the project.
