Suffering from a concussion injury, Justin Hubner: I’ll be back soon
Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – Bad news came from Indonesian National Team defender Justin Hubner who suffered a concussion injury. This condition forced him to rest for about four weeks.
However, Justin Hubner emphasized that he was ready to return to playing. “I will be back soon,” wrote Hubner via an upload on his Instagram Story, as quoted in Jakarta, Thursday (20/12/2024).
Justin Hubner suffered a concussion injury while strengthening the Wolverhampton Wanderers (Wolves) U-21 team in the match against Aston Villa U-21 on Saturday (14/12/2024). In that match, Hubner was hit by the leg of Villa player Luka Lynch who was taking a kick overheads after trying to grab the ball rebounding.
As a result of this incident, Justin Hubner immediately received medical treatment on the field and was replaced by Hayden Carson in the 90+4 minute.
On the other hand, Luka Lynch received a red card for this action, so Villa had to play with 10 players. This condition made it difficult for Villa to catch up and ultimately lost 0-4.
This match against Villa was Justin Hubner’s second appearance this season with Wolves after previously appearing in the match against Arsenal U-21 on 23 August. In the match which ended in a 1-3 defeat, Hubner played in the second half.
With the injury suffered by Justin Hubner, the opportunity for the player born in Den Bosch to join the Indonesian national team is if squad Garuda’s qualification for the 2024 AFF Cup semifinals is certain to be lost. Currently, Indonesia is in second place in the 2024 AFF Cup group B standings with four points, the result of one win, one draw and one defeat.
Muhammad Ferrari and his friends are three points behind Vietnam who are at the top of the standings. The Golden Stars team is in an advantageous position, only needing a draw against Myanmar in the last match, Saturday (21/12/2024), to ensure progress to the semifinals.
Even without Justin Hubner who suffered a concussion, Indonesia must win over the Philippines at Manahan Stadium, Solo, on Saturday (21/12/2024), as the only way to advance to the semifinals.
