Synopsis and Link to Watch the Korean Film The Boys on Vidio, Based on a True Story that Shocked Korea in 1999

Todaysgist.com, Jakarta South Korean cinema fans are once again spoiled by Vidio with the presence of a film from the Land of Ginseng: The Boys. The film premiered at the 27th Busan International Film Festival on October 6, 2023, and was released a month later in the country.

The Boys is based on a true story of a robbery and murder case known as the Samrye Nara Super which occurred in the early hours of February 6, 1999. The incident claimed the victim of a 77-year-old woman.

Samrye’s case is widely known in South Korea as “late justice.” Her story has also been written about by reporter Park Sang Gyu and public defender Park Joon Young.

What is the synopsis of this film?

The small town of Samrye in South Korea was shocked when an elderly woman was found brutally murdered inside a robbed supermarket. Of course, this incident caused fear among the community. The police were under pressure to immediately catch the perpetrator.

Within a short time, three underage boys were arrested and made prime suspects in this case.

They are Kwon Chang Ho (Kim Dong Young), Jeon Seung-Woo (Yoo Su Bin), and SeoByeong Won (Kim Kyung Ho). Despite the lack of evidence, they were forced to confess to the crime through intimidation and violence. The case was then quickly closed, as if justice had been served.
