Temporary PDN Hit by Ransomware, Observer: The Attack That Data Managers Are Most Feared Now

Apart from PDN Temporary, a number of other institutions will also become victims of ransomware attacks in 2024. Vaccinecom data reveals that, as of mid-2024, there have been 10 large institutions that have become victims of ransomware.

The institutions are varied, from private to government. From the logistics industry, food logistics, shopping centers, consumer finance, banks, financial services, IT services, transportation, to stock brokers.

Moreover, there was one Tbk financial institution that was even the victim of different ransomware twice. In July 2023, this banking institution became a victim of ransomware with a total of 450GB of data stolen and encrypted by Ransomhouse.

These institutional data contain a lot of sensitive information. For example, detailed customer data, credit facilities obtained and others. This data was distributed by Ransomhouse and viewed 43,126 times.

The same bank was attacked by another ransomware again in early April 2024. The ransomware that attacked it was Medusa. The data that was stolen and encrypted was 108GB.
