The Friedkin Group is now the new owner of Everton

Liverpool, Beritasatu.com – The Friedkin Group is now the new owner of English club Everton. The American company has completed a purchase of £400 million from majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri.

In fact, an agreement was reached on September 23 2024, but is still waiting for Premier League approval.

“Today marks an important and proud moment for The Friedkin Group as we take charge of this iconic football club. “We are committed to leading Everton into an exciting new era both on and off the pitch,” said new Executive Chairman of Everton Football Club Marc Watts in a statement reported by Tribal FootballThursday (19/12/2024).

Marc Watts said Everton’s new owner’s main priority was to provide financial stability. According to him, this transfer of ownership is the first step to realizing the ambition of placing Everton in a worthy position in the Premier League standings.

Meanwhile, long-time Everton owner Moshiri believes this change of ownership is the best step for the club to achieve success in the future.

“There has been a huge team effort to reach this stage and I would like to personally thank my colleagues. Despite facing a number of challenges, we have made achievements in recent years including the construction of a new sports department and the construction of our iconic new stadium,” he said.

Moshiri believes that Everton’s new owner will be able to bring success to the club. “I now hand over to the new owners with confidence in the prospects that Everton and our fantastic fans will see the success on the pitch they so richly deserve,” he concluded.
