The Indonesian National Team’s Defense is Getting More Tough

Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – Kevin Diks is certain to be able to strengthen the Indonesian national team when they host Japan at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK), Senayan, Jakarta, on Friday (15/11/2024) evening. His presence is expected to make the Garuda squad’s defense even more responsible considering that Japan is the strongest team in Asia.

“The hope is of course that with the presence of Kevin Diks Indonesia’s defense line will become stronger. With his experience playing in the Champions League there is certainly no doubt,” said PSSI General Chair Erick Thohir in Jakarta, Monday (11/11/2024).

The Indonesian national team will play two home matches in Group C of the third round of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup in the Asian zone at SUGBK, respectively against Japan on November 15 and hosting Saudi Arabia on November 19 2024.

It was doubtful that Kevin Diks would play against Japan, but now all his naturalization processes have been completed and he is ready to join the Garuda squad.

Erick has confirmed that Kevin Diks can strengthen the Indonesian national team against Japan at SUGBK.

The same goes to the DPR RI, the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Law, the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Indonesian Embassy and all parties who helped Kevin Diks’ naturalization process, so that it could be completed quickly,” he said.
