The late Maradona Celebrates Napoli’s Success in Winning the 2022/2023 Italian League

– The late football legend Diego Maradona through his Instagram account thanked Napoli for successfully winning the Italian League Serie A title after waiting for the last 33 years.

Maradona, who died aged 60 in November 2020, is still revered in Naples for inspiring the club to Scudetto success in 1987 and 1990.

After a long and often painful wait, Napoli’s current players have finally won the title again. The title sparked wild celebrations across the city on Thursday night.

Napoli sealed the title after a 1-1 draw at Udinese thanks to Victor Osimhen’s equalizer.

Maradona’s official Instagram account posted an interesting image showing Napoli’s number 10 climbing up the blue steps bearing the names of the current squad.

The post read, “New date to remember, new joy for the city, for the people, for the history. Thanks to you all! Come on Napoli.”

An earlier post compared the street celebrations in Naples from 1987 and 2023, saying, “Yesterday and today. Same city, same happiness.”
