The Kazakhstani volleyball player will strengthen the new Yogya Falcons team in the most prestigious volleyball competition in the country, Proliga 2025.

Sabina Altynbekova left Astana, Kasakstan on Tuesday (12/11/2024) and arrived in Jakarta Wednesday (13/11/2024). The 182 cm tall athlete immediately flew to Surabaya to undergo a training camp with the Yogya Falcons team.

“I am very happy to finally be able to go to Indonesia and play volleyball here. “I’ve been dreaming of this for the last 3 or 4 years, and now it can finally come true,” said Sabina when met at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tangerang.

Even though this is her first visit to Indonesia, Sabina Altynbejova admits that she already feels a close connection with Indonesia.

Most of his social media followers are Indonesian citizens.

“After the 2014 Asian Junior Women’s Volleyball Championship in Taiwan, I got a lot of followers from Indonesia. They often say that they want to see me play volleyball in Indonesia. Now it can finally happen,” said Sabina Altynbekova, who will make her Proliga debut in January 2025.

Sabina admitted that she had been very curious about Indonesia for a long time. He really wants to learn and understand Indonesian culture, including the language.

“I also want to meet my fellow season members here,” said the 28-year-old athlete.

Prior to this, Sabina also had unique experiences related to Indonesia. About five years ago, when the term “om telolet om” went viral on social media, he also made it popular. He asked his fans what the words meant.

Sabina will defend the Yogya Falcons together with future Indonesian players who are being prepared to compete in the U-21 World Championship in Indonesia, August next year.

“They are still young, there is definitely something I can learn from them. On the other hand, they can also learn from me. “Even though I’m a senior, I still feel like I’m 17 years old hahaha…” said Sabina while laughing cheerfully.
