The Reds show a winning mentality, Salah scores his 100th goal at Anfield

Liverpool, Beritasatu.com – The English Premier League match between Liverpool vs Leicester City ended with a 3-1 win for the hosts, Friday (27/12/2024) early morning WIB.

Liverpool showed a winning mentality when they came from behind to beat Leicester. This victory extended Liverpool’s unbeaten record in the Premier League to 13 matches while strengthening their position at the top of the standings with 42 points.

Leicester, who are struggling at the bottom of the standings, surprised the hosts with a quick goal in the sixth minute through Jordan Ayew. Starting from Stephy Mavididi’s action on the left side, Ayew managed to overcome Andy Robertson’s tackle and score the opening goal.

Liverpool almost equalized when Robertson’s header hit the post in the 25th minute, and Mohamed Salah’s curling shot hit the crossbar towards the end of the first half. However, Cody Gakpo finally managed to equalize the score with a beautiful curling shot that Leicester goalkeeper Jakub Stolarczyk couldn’t block in first half stoppage time.

Entering the second half of Liverpool vs Leicester, the hosts immediately pressed. Curtis Jones scored a goal in the 49th minute after receiving a short pass from Alexis Mac Allister. Even though this goal was reviewed via VAR, the decision still approved the goal.

Liverpool’s third goal was scored by Mohamed Salah in the 82nd minute. The player from Egypt recorded his 100th goal at Anfield by cutting in from the right and firing an accurate shot.

Liverpool’s dominance gave them the opportunity to score more goals, but less than optimal finishing meant the score remained at 3-1.

Meanwhile, Leicester slumped to a third straight defeat in the league, keeping them in the relegation zone on 14 points, just two points ahead of bottom team, Ipswich Town.
