This is the impact of the Presidential Decree on Games for Local Game Industry Players in Indonesia

Presidential Decree Number 19 of 2024 concerning the Acceleration of Development of the National Games Industry aims to resolve challenges in the development of the Indonesian games industry, such as lack of funds and Human Resources (HR), technical problems, as well as to unite the steps of stakeholders.

The Presidential Decree discusses human resource development, increasing promotion and access to markets, developing the hardware industry, providing infrastructure, opening access to financing and capital, strengthening regulations, and activating Indonesian games in regional and global areas.

Based on data from the “2021/2022 Tourism & Creative Economy Outlook” published by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf), the applications and games subsector managed to contribute to Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of IDR 31.25 trillion in 2021.

Applications and games became the subsector with the second highest growth rate (9.17 percent), after the television and radio subsector (9.48 percent).
