This is What the First Nokia-Zeiss Cellphone Camera Module Looks Like, How is it Different from Vivo?

Vivo is currently collaborating with one of the world’s largest optics companies, Zeiss, to boost the camera capabilities of its smartphones.

As is known, Zeiss previously also partnered with Nokia. The two have worked together for decades.

So, what makes Zeiss’ partnership with Vivo and Nokia different? Zeiss Consumer Products’ Senior Smartphone Technology Manager, Oliver Schindelbeck, exclusively revealed this to Tekno Todaysgist.com.

“When we started the partnership with Vivo, it was very challenging because we were developing in parallel. This partnership is a detailed and in-depth development,” said Oliver at Zeiss Headquarters in Oberkochen, Germany on Friday (20/9/2024) afternoon.

He emphasized that this collaboration is not just about camera module testing and device certification.

“So it’s not just about testing and certifying devices. We actually do deep development work on technology and device development,” Oliver added.

He said the company really worked together with Vivo from the beginning, from development to product launch and post-product release.

“We also work with Vivo to explain what we do. I think that’s a big differentiator compared to any other company in the market that you see today,” Oliver said.

The bespectacled man said Zeiss then ended its partnership with Nokia after the company partnered with Vivo in 2020.

“With Nokia, we also had a fairly similar partnership, but as I said, with the start of the partnership with Vivo, we ended the partnership with Nokia,” he said.

“But, it’s not a bad ending because we partnered with Nokia for almost 20 years. Vivo in 2020 is the right partner, at the right time,” Oliver concluded.
