TikTok Fights Back, Files Lawsuit After Banning in US State of Montana

Eric Ebenstein, TikTok’s vice president of public policy, told CNN that the national security complaints filed by Montana, state lawmakers, and federal policymakers are unjustified.

“National security issues are within the purview of the federal government,” Ebenstein said last Thursday local time.

“That’s not within the constitution of the government of Montana or any other state. We thought there might be a reason why no other state currently has a similar rule,” he added.

As is known, Montana became the first state in the United States to issue an official ban on TikTok.

Banning TikTok in the US is nothing new. In fact, this application made in China has faced various accusations and threats of banning since it was first launched in 2017.
