Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – Indonesian men’s singles player Jonatan Christie beat Kunlavut Vitidsarn, taking him to the semifinals of the 2024 BWF World Tour Finals in Hangzhou, China, Friday (13/12/2024).

Jonatan Christie beat 2023 world champion Kunlavut Vitidsarn in two straight games, 21-15 and 21-12 in the third match of Group A.

The All England champion said that defeat in the first match of Group A made him even more enthusiastic about giving his best performance at the 2024 BWF World Tour Finals.

“After the defeat against Shi Yu Qi, I carried out an evaluation because there was a pattern of play that was not good, a strategy that was not working,” said Jonatan Christie, in a statement to PBSI Public Relations.

Jojo, as he is known, won two wins at the 2024 World Tour Finals. Before beating Kunvalut, he also beat Kodai Naraoka. These two wins took him to the semifinals.

“Today the shuttlecock was a little slow, it took a lot of energy to make the shot. “However, earlier I tried to be more confident, more convinced that the opponent was much more accomplished because in the first two matches he played for a very long time, automatically he had to use extra energy,” said Jonatan.
