Tottenham vs Brentford results: Once superior, Spurs fell 1-3 at home

– Had a quick lead through Harry Kane’s goal in the 8th minute, Tottenham Hotspur finally gave up losing 1-3 to his guest, Brentford in the Premier League continued, Saturday (20/5/2023) evening WIB.

The home fans rejoiced after Kane put Spurs ahead in the 8th minute. Kane’s hard shot from outside the penalty box brought the hosts 1-0 up.

After that Tottenham dominated the game. Spurs got a number of chances through Son Heung-min and Davinson Sánchez, but were saved by goalkeeper Brentford.

Brentford was not without a fight in the first half. They also had a number of opportunities including Mathias Jensen’s kick which unfortunately still didn’t meet the target.

Until halftime the score remained 1-0 in favor of the Spurs.

At the start of the second half, it was Brentford’s turn to make a surprise at the start. After just five minutes of play, Brentford equalized the score through Brian Mbeumo’s goal.

Mbeumo’s left-footed shot from the right of the 16th box into the bottom left corner was unable to be dammed into the Spurs goal. Score 1-1. Six minutes later, Mbeumo almost scored his second goal which, unfortunately, was saved by the goalkeeper.

Mbeumo became a scourge again after breaking into the Spurs goal in the 62nd minute. His left-footed shot from the right side of the 16th box nestled into the bottom left corner.

Behind 1-2, the Spurs tried to intensify the attack. The threat came from Richarlison with a header from the center of the 16th box which was saved in the 82nd minute.

Brentford doubled their advantage in the 83rd minute after Yoane Wissa’s shot turned into a goal. In the remaining time, the Spurs tried hard to catch up.

Richarlison got two golden opportunities, which unfortunately still failed to score. The 3-1 score for Brentford’s advantage lasted until the fight ended.
