Visit Steward Who Was Beaten Up After Persib vs Persija Match, Bobotoh Apologizes

Bandung Regency, Todaysgist.com – The chaos after the match between Persib Bandung and Persija Jakarta some time ago at the Si Jalak Harupat Stadium, Bandung Regency, West Java, had long-term consequences.

In the incident, eight people steward or field officers were injured. Meanwhile, on Wednesday (25/9/2024) afternoon, one spectator involved in the incident was arrested by the police.

Irfan Nurbani (42), is one of eight people steward who was the victim of a mob attack by Bobotoh supporters after the Persib vs Persija match at the Si Jalak Harupat Stadium, Soreang, Bandung Regency, Monday (23/9/2024).

As of Wednesday (25/9/2024) Irfan is still undergoing treatment at Otista Hospital due to head injuries, Irfan expressed his hope that similar incidents will not happen again in the future. “I have forgiven, but I hope supporters can be wiser and more mature in responding to issues on the field,” said Irfan.

Irfan suffered a head injury after being suddenly hit by a group of supporters while on duty in the southeast tribune area. The injury he suffered required further treatment. However, he still supports the legal steps taken by the police.

“The legal process must continue. Personally, I forgive, but this is for the good of all parties so that this incident does not happen again,” he stressed.

Meanwhile, Bandung Police Chief Senior Commissioner Kusworo Wibowo said that his party is still investigating the supporters who committed violence and has temporarily arrested one person.

“We have identified some and we have arrested several people and in the meantime we have just arrested one person and we are still pursuing the others,” said Kusworo.

Meanwhile, Viking Persib Club (VPC) Chairman Tobias Ginanjar along with representatives of PT Persib Bandung Bermartabat (PBB) also visited the victim and apologized on behalf of Bobotoh. His party will not hinder the legal process if any of its members are proven to be involved.

“We apologize to the victims and sympathize. Violence cannot be justified and we are ready to cooperate, and if any members are involved, we will not defend them, and will impose internal sanctions,” said Tobias.
