West Java Leads Taekwondo Medal Standings

Deli Serdang, Todaysgist.com – West Java leads the temporary standings for gold medals in the taekwondo sport at the 2024 Aceh-North Sumatra National Sports Week (PON).

Based on the latest data quoted in Deli Serdang, Sunday (15/9/2024), West Java (Jabar) managed to win six gold medals, three silver medals, and four bronze medals from the 19 categories that had been competed until Saturday (14/9/2024) evening.

In second place, Central Java (Jateng) collected four gold medals, two silver, and five bronze, while DKI Jakarta was in third place with two gold medals, three silver, and three bronze.

The fourth position is occupied by Bali which won one gold, two silver, and five bronze medals. Followed by the Special Region of Yogyakarta in fifth place with one gold, one silver, and three bronze. East Java (Jatim) is in sixth place with one gold, one silver, and one bronze medal.

Hosts North Sumatra had to settle for seventh place with one gold and three bronzes. Gorontalo was eighth with one gold and two bronzes, while Riau Islands was ninth with one gold and one bronze.

Banten Province ranked 10th with one gold medal, while East Kalimantan was in 11th place with two silvers and two bronzes. Aceh was in 12th place with two silvers and one bronze.

In the next position, Central Sulawesi pocketed one silver and one bronze in thirteenth place. North Sulawesi was in 14th place with one silver, followed by West Sumatra in 15th place with one silver. Riau Province was in 16th place with three bronzes.

Jambi Province is in 17th place with one bronze, West Nusa Tenggara is in 18th place also with one bronze, Southeast Sulawesi is in 19th place with one bronze, and Bangka Belitung Islands is in last place with one bronze.

The PON XXI Aceh-North Sumatra taekwondo competition will take place at the Martial Arts Arena, Sumut Sport Center Complex, Deli Serdang, from 12 to 15 September 2024, with 22 gold medals up for grabs. Today, there are still three gold medals up for grabs.
