West Java Police Men’s Volleyball Team Optimistic About Winning the 2024 Kapolri Cup

Todays gist – The West Java Regional Police have confirmed the men’s and women’s volleyball teams that will compete in the 2024 Kapolri Cup tournament which will take place for four days from Wednesday to Saturday (21-24/8/2024) at the Padjadjaran Sports Hall, Bandung City, West Java.

A total of 16 male athletes and 17 female athletes along with eight officials have been confirmed to strengthen the West Java Regional Police team at the 2024 Kapolri Cup event.

A player from the West Java Regional Police men’s team, Jasen Natanael Klanta, who plays as setter admitted that for two weeks he and his team had been preparing to face this tournament.

“For two weeks we were provided with facilities, so during those two weeks we did technical and physical training together,” said Jasen after being inaugurated by the West Java Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Pol Akhmad Wiyagus, Tuesday (20/8/2024) afternoon.

“However, there are three people who cannot attend, because some are taking job tests and national tests, but we remain confident because there are several young players who have been preparing together. So we are quite ready for the Kapolri Cup,” he added.

In addition to Polda Jabar, there are three other teams participating in this tournament and Jasen assessed that all of them are worthy of consideration. “The competition will be very tight because all of them are of equal strength. This year the players are more divided, so more or less the other three teams are also worthy of consideration,” he said.

Despite having a relatively short preparation time. However, Jasen and his colleagues are optimistic that they can emerge as champions in the 2024 Kapolri Cup.

“The target is to win. Yesterday’s preparation was more physical, because last month the players had just finished playing in the league so it was more about recovery. As for togetherness, because we are all from West Java, teamwork is already good. No awkward,” he concluded.
