Winning Big Over Central Java Police in the 2024 Kapolri Cup, West Java Police Women’s Team Coach: Preparations Ahead of PON

Todays gist – On the second day of the preliminary round of zone IV of the 2024 Kapolri Cup Tournament held at the Pajajaran Sports Hall, Bandung, the West Java (Jabar) Regional Police women’s volleyball team defeated the Central Java (Jateng) Regional Police team with a score of 3-0, namely 25-23, 29-27, and 25-9.

West Java Police women’s team coach Risco Herlambang considered the victory not only as satisfaction, but as part of the preparation for the upcoming PON event.

“Looking at the match results, the points are indeed thin, except in the third set. This victory is actually more for PON preparation, because our players have just finished the league and their fitness is still a little disturbed,” said Risco after the match, Thursday (8/22/2024).

Risco hopes that his team can perform better in the next match against the East Java Regional Police.

“Our target is to qualify for the next phase, and if not, we will still try to show our best here,” he added.

According to Risco, there was no special strategy applied in this match. However, the two tight sets provided valuable lessons for the next match.

“These two close sets can be used as evaluation material for future matches,” he said.

In this match, the West Java Regional Police women’s team played in front of supporters who filled the west stand of the Pajajaran Sports Hall.

The first set was tight, with intense attacks between the two teams, and Polda Jabar managed to win 25-23.

The second set became even more intense, with both parties chasing points until a draw occurred. two at a score of 24-24. The match ended with Polda Jabar winning 29-27, so they were ahead 2-0.

In the third set, the West Java Regional Police women’s team showed a more aggressive game, while the Central Java Regional Police team experienced a decline in performance.
