Winning Gold, Rock Climbing Expected to Succeed in the 2024 Olympics

– The Indonesian Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora), Dito Ariotedjo is proud and appreciates the gold won by Indonesia at the 2023 Rock Climbing World Cup (IFSC Climbing World Cup). The gold medal was won by Raharjati Nursamsa in the men’s speed number.

In the final which was held at Lot 6 of Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) on Sunday (7/5/2023), Raharjati managed to record a time of 5.11 seconds, beating athlete from China Xinshang Wang who had a record time of 5.14 seconds, 0.03 seconds slower

According to him, this achievement opens up great opportunities for rock climbing to excel at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

With this good result, Menpora Dito feels happy and proud. He considered the sport of rock climbing to have a great chance at the upcoming 2024 Olympics.

“Apparently wall climbing become one of the sports we really hope for. Statistically and track recordit shows that for world events we are indeed superior. So, hopefully in the 2024 Olympics we will be blessed and lucky,” he said after presenting medals to the winners at Lot Six Bung Karno, Senayan, Jakarta, Sunday (7/5/2023) evening.

“Alhamdulillah, we as hosts won gold and bronze from male athletes. For women, pushing to rank up from the results in Korea bronze now silver is good,” added Menpora Dito.

According to him, the government through Kemenpora always supports world championships held in Indonesia such as the IFSC Climbing World Cup in Jakarta which will be held this May 6-7.

“We at Kemenpora really support world events like this, in terms of funding and organizing. For athlete training we have prepared a long-term national training program, training center as well as try outs and try ins abroad,” explained Menpora Dito.

“Hopefully at the world championships in the US later our target is to maintain the most important thing is to keep our hearts and minds focused, calm down, we will leave the rest to God because the preparations have been maximized,” concluded Menpora Dito.
