Winning narrowly over Barito Putera, Bali United is perched in 3rd position

Gianyar, Todaysgist.com – Bali United is in third place in the League 1 standings after beating Barito Putera 3-2, Friday (27/9/2024), at the I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Gianyar, Bali.

This brings a fourth win in seven games squad coached by Stefano Cugurra or Teco is in third place after Persebaya and Borneo. Serdadu Tridatu, nicknamed Bali United, collected 14 points.

The first position was filled by Persebaya who collected 17 points after drawing 0-0 against Dewa United at the Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium. Meanwhile, second place in the standings is occupied by Borneo FC, which has collected 14 points from six matches.

Bali United’s winning goals were scored by Everton Nascimento (two goals) and Privat Mbarga. Barito Putera responded with goals from Murilo Mendes and Bagas Adi Nugroho.

In the first half, the home team appeared more aggressive under the supervision of referee Amri Nurhadi. Bali United created several golden opportunities through Irfan Jaya in the 23rd and 25th minutes, but did not produce a goal.

The deadlock was finally broken when Everton Nascimento scored Bali United’s first goal in the 26th minute with a header using a corner kick from Mitsuru Maruoka.

The match between the two teams took place with high tension. At the end of the first half, Barito Putera received a penalty which was executed well by Murilo Mendes after the referee decided on a penalty based on the results of the VAR review because one of the Bali United players committed handball. The score was 1-1 at halftime.

Entering the second half, the intensity of the match increased with both teams launching attacks on each other. Everton Nascimento’s header almost increased Bali United’s lead in the 49th minute, but goalkeeper Satria Tama managed to thwart it.

Stefano Cugurra’s team strengthened their defense after Barito Putera continued to press with counter attacks. However, in the 80th minute, Privat Mbarga managed to add a goal for Bali United with a header after taking advantage of a rebound from the opponent.

Drama occurred in the 89th minute when Bagas Adi scored an own goal, bringing the score back to a 2-2 draw. However, in the 93rd minute of added time, Everton Nascimento again became a hero for Bali United by scoring the winning goal with a header after receiving a pass from Privat Mbarga, ensuring a 3-2 win for Bali United.

Defeating for the third time in seven matches means Barito Putera remains in 11th place with eight points.

Bali United will continue their match by visiting Persita Tangerang on 20 October 2024 at the Pakansari Bogor Stadium in the eighth week of League 1. On the same day Barito Putera will host PSS Slemann
