Winning SEA Games Gold, Wrestling Athletes Get IDR 100 Million Bonus from Padang City Government

– Wrestling athlete who won gold at the 2023 SEA Games, Randa Riandesta, received an award and bonus money from the Padang City Government (Pemkot) worth IDR 100 million, Monday (22/5/2023). This award and money were given as a thank you for raising the name of West Sumatra, especially the city of Padang.

Randa, who is a member of the Indonesian National Police and now serves at the West Sumatra Regional Police, won a gold medal in the men’s 79 kg freestyle class. Randa was welcomed at Minangkabau International Airport by the leadership of the Padang City Government, parents, police.

The Mayor of Padang, Hendri Septa, was grateful that Randa was able to win a gold medal at the biennial multi-sport sports event. This success has made the people of West Sumatra, especially the city of Padang, proud.

“We, the Government of Padang City, congratulate Randa, and on behalf of the people of Padang City, we are proud of her achievements,” said Hendri.

After being greeted at the airport, Randa will also be paraded around the city of Padang. “After welcoming Randa, we will paraded Randa by car around the city of Padang. This is a sign of how proud the Government of Padang is for Randa’s achievements,” he said.

The Mayor also said the bonus for Randa was to provide motivation. He hopes that the prospective athletes will be more active in training so that they can become Randa’s successor in the future.

“The Padang City Government will give Randa an appreciation of Rp. 100 million. This is from the Padang City Government, there may also be others,” he explained.
