XL Axiata Expands Convergence Services to Sulawesi
Previously, XL Axiata also expanded their 4G services to the Riau Islands. XL Axiata has now provided 4G internet services to 40 remote islands in the province.
This is a manifestation of XL Axiata's commitment to supporting the government's program to equalize data and digital economy services to remote areas of the country.
“The existence of good data networks and services in remote areas will reduce the digitalization gap with urban areas so that local residents can access various digital services, especially to remain productive and competitive,” said XL Axiata Director & Chief Technology Officer, I Gede Darmayusa in an official statement received, Friday (5/7/2024).
It was stated that the total BTS throughout Kepri is no less than 1,750 units, the majority of which are 4G BTS. Gede further explained that XL Axiata also added almost 200 BTS and upgraded more than 1,000 BTS in Kepri in the last two years.
This is done to improve the quality of internet services and meet the increasing needs of the community. Currently, XL Axiata's 4G network has reached 395 villages/sub-districts, 46 districts, and 7 regencies in Kepri.
Not only that, network expansion and quality improvement are also continuously carried out, especially in the Anambas Islands, Bintan Islands and Karimun Islands.
