XL Operates 12 Mobile BTS in IKN to Strengthen Network Ahead of 79th Indonesian Independence Day Ceremony

Going forward, XL Axiata is committed to continuing to increase its network capacity and infrastructure in the IKN in line with the increasing population and activities in the area.

“We collaborate with the IKN Authority to ensure that our network can meet customer needs, both for communication and other needs,” added I Gede Darmayusa.

In the buffer area of ​​the IKN, which includes Kutai Kartanegara Regency and Penajam Paser Utara, XL Axiata has prepared around 500 BTS, most of which are 4G BTS. In the core area of ​​the IKN, more than 150 BTS have been installed and reach four main sub-districts.

Fiber Optic Network

In addition to developing cellular networks, XL Axiata is also strengthening its fiber optic network, which is ready to support fast telecommunications and internet services in the IKN.

One of the important projects is the operation of the Batam-Serawak SKKL connecting Malaysia and Indonesia, which has been running since June 2022.

This infrastructure is designed to improve the quality and speed of internet connections, especially for the Batam, Sumatra, Kalimantan and Sulawesi regions.
