XRP saw an impressive $13 billion increase in its market value in just 24 hours. THE capital injection raised the token’s market capitalization from $124.57 billion to $140 billion. With this, Ripple Labs’ cryptocurrency became the third largest cryptocurrency, surpassing Tether (USDT), currently valued at around US$137 billion.
The rally began at the turn of the year, when XRP spent New Year’s Eve trading at US$2.10. Just 24 hours later, it was selling for US$2.40 and was worth US$2.45 during the afternoon of Friday, 3. Confirming the increase until the end of the day, this will be the third in a row, signaling a robust recovery and potential for a continued upward movement.
XRP trading volume has also seen explosive growth over the past 24 hours, reaching US$11 billion on Thursday the 2nd, reaching a market capitalization of US$154 billiona new all-time high for cryptocurrency. Among the reasons that may explain the sudden rise in XRP is the recent warning from the Whale Alert profile, which reported that 500 million XRP was unlocked from an unknown wallet escrowgenerating a wave of speculation among investors.
Possible rally fuels
Furthermore, on the same day, Ripple Labs CEP, Brad Garlinghouse, made a post demonstrating optimism and declaring that the focus of 2025 will be on the token’s real-world usefulness. We also cannot forget the fact that XRP was the target of four requests to open an ETF with the SECin November last year, as reported here.
Market analysts have an optimistic but cautious view on XRP’s recent performance. Cryptocurrency trading expert CryptoInsightUK published a tweet indicating that XRP is currently holding mid-range support, a critical position in determining its next move.
According to him, the tendency is for the XRP reaches US$2.70 and returns to US$2.40, before a new high. However, he highlights that wouldn’t be surprised if the token reaches $2.75 support and explodes above $3.
