Appearing Fastest, Max Verstappen Leads Miami GP Sprint Race

Miami, Beritasatu.com – Formula 1 (F1) racer from the Red Bull team, Max Verstappen won pole position for the Miami Grand Prix (GP) sprint race on Saturday (4/5/2024) early morning WIB. The three-time F1 world champion was in the front row with Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc.

Leclerc missed most of the morning practice session after his car spun off the track and had to undergo repairs.

Verstappen, winner of the first sprint race of the season at the Chinese Grand Prix, will start from the front on Sunday (5/5/2024) early morning WIB, after recording the fastest time for one lap, with one minute, 28.194 seconds at the Miami International Autodrome Circuit.

Leclerc's morning practice session lasted just a little over three laps before he spun and stopped on the track with a red flag.

However, the racer from Monaco made no mistakes in the qualifying session. His time record managed to separate Verstappen from his teammate Sergio Perez who had to settle for achieving the third fastest time.

Alpha Tauri's Daniel Ricciardo will start in fourth position ahead of second Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz.

Sainz is the only racer besides Verstappen who was able to win the grand prix title in F1 this season.
