CEO Vidio Reveals the Secrets of the Latest Digital Industry at Binus University

Liputan6.com, Jakarta – Managing Director of Emtek, CEO of SCM & Vidio Sutanto Hartono was present as a speaker at the Studium Generale Binus University. Entitled Local OTT Streaming Hero: Beating Global Giants in Your Own Territory, Sutanto discusses current digital developments, including Vidio.

In the public lecture he gave, Sutanto said that the current development of the digital industry has made business competition limitless. This condition often allows global companies to become more dominant in the domestic market.

“Nevertheless, we have to be open. However, we still have to be careful so that we are not the only nation that consumes. You have to have idealism, that digital creativity can be developed by the Indonesian people,” said Sutanto at the Studium Generale Binus University which was held in Jakarta , Wednesday (13/3/2024).

Sutanto further said that when he started developing Vidio, the company was aware that there were several challenges. One of the challenges is the habits of Indonesian consumers who are still reluctant to subscribe to premium services.

To answer this challenge, Vidio is also trying to provide content that is most popular with consumers in Indonesia, as well as content that can keep them subscribing.

In this regard, Vidio is also trying to offer a range of interesting content for consumers. At Vidio itself, the mainstay content is sports and original series.

Sutanto explained that sports is content that can attract consumers to subscribe for the long term. Because sports matches are usually held over a certain period of time, and fans don't want to miss the match.

Local content was also chosen as a mainstay, because interest in it is still very high. Based on the MPA report for the first half of 2023, local content still dominates broadcasts among Indonesian consumers.

In fact, local content outperforms content from South Korea, the United States, Japan and China. Therefore, Vidio is also diligent in producing original series content.
