Designed by Famous Designers, This is the Meaning of the Indonesian Contingent’s Costumes at the 2024 Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony

Not only full of meaning, the design process for the Indonesian contingent’s parade costumes was also apparently carried out to prioritize the needs of the Olympic athletes.

Designed using high-quality materials, the uniform is designed to provide maximum comfort and ease of movement. Specifically, the costume is made of high-quality materials. breathablelike washed out Indonesian denim, velvet and silk jersey in a predominantly primary color palette.

Male athlete uniforms made of washed out denim inspired jacket look biker which is combined with beskap, a traditional Javanese suit. White trousers are the bottom for an active look.

Meanwhile, the female athlete’s uniform features a top with a red Kutubaru kebaya cut paired with jumpsuit white. This makes the costume still combine the impression sportybut accompanied by elegant majesty.

Attention to detail is evident in each design, from the intricate stitching to the subtle placement of the red and white Indonesian emblem made of leather, to the Blangkon or men’s head covering in traditional Javanese attire, with contemporary touches of leather and denim—all play their part in the harmony of the overall look.

Although not included in the parade group, the General Chairman of the Indonesian Olympic Committee (NOC Indonesia) Raja Sapta Oktohari also had the opportunity to wear the same clothes as those worn by the Indonesian Team parade.

“The Opening Ceremony of the Olympics is the best opportunity to introduce Indonesia as a great nation. Moreover, I and the other Indonesian Team defile are wearing clothes made by the nation’s children that have been recognized by the world. Of course we should be proud,” said Raja Sapta Oktohari in the official NOC release.
