At Google I/O a few weeks ago, the company introduced new anti-theft features, including offline phone lock and remote device lock.

Quoting the report Android AuthoritySaturday (6/15/2024), Google announced that the feature will be available in Brazil. For users who want to try this feature, they need to fill out a form first.

After filling in the form, Google will notify the user that the anti-theft protection feature has been activated on the registered device.

To run this feature, the user's device must be running the Android 10 operating system and above. Please note, the old version of Android will have several limitations.

However, users need to activate several settings so that this Beta feature can work.

For your information, the thief detection feature will automatically lock the device if the system detects that the cellphone has been stolen.

Not only that, Google also introduced Remote Lock which allows users to lock and even delete data on their phones by simply entering a phone number and special password on any device.

Both devices can be locked even when the stolen device is not connected to any network or if the thief tries to disconnect the internet.
