Liputan6.com, Jakarta- Indonesia's long-distance running queen Triyaningsih is challenged to complete the World Marathon Majors. Triyaningsih is preparing to take part in the 2024 New York City Marathon which is planned to take place on November 3 2024.

The World Marathon Majors is the most prestigious marathon race in the world. Currently there are only six events, namely the Tokyo Marathon, Boston Marathon, London Marathon, Berlin Marathon, Chicago Marathon and New York City Marathon.

Triyaningsih just took part in the Chicago Marathon last year. In 2024, Triyaningsih is determined to finish in the New York City Marathon. Before leaving in November, Triyaningsih will warm up at several national running events.

“I am now concerned about completing the World Marathon Majors. Yesterday I took part in the Chicago Marathon. This year, God willing, I will go to the New York City Marathon,” said Triyaningsih to journalists, Sunday (19/5/2024).

Conquering the World Marathon Majors is a challenge in itself for Triyaningsih after having 11 national running records. Until now, Triyaningsih holds the national record for long-distance running with a time of two hours 31 minutes 49 seconds, which she achieved when participating in the 2010 Asian Games.
