Kabosu, Dogecoin Mascot Dies on May 24, 2024

Liputan6.com, Jakarta – Dogecoin confirmed the passing of Kabosu, the beloved dog that became its face cryptocurrencies that popular. According to the post on page X, Kabosu died peacefully on May 24 at 7:50 am local time.

“Today Kabosu, a friend and inspiration to our community, passed away peacefully. The impact this one dog had on the entire world is immeasurable. “He was a creature who only knew happiness and unlimited love,” wrote the announcement of Kabosu's death, quoted from Bitcoinist, Friday (24/5/2024).

Kabosu, a Shiba Inu who became an internet sensation for his distinctive alert and charming expression, captured in a photo by his owner. This image later became Dogecoin's iconic face, symbolizing the playful spirit of the digital currency that was originally created as a joke or meme.

“Please keep his spirit and that of his family in your hearts, and most importantly take him with you as your story continues. We are all lucky that he has touched and shaped our story. Thank you,” added the post.

Kabosu's likeness helped fuel the rise of meme-based Dogecoin, which later grew into a significant player in the cryptocurrency community. The official blog post shared by Dogecoin tells of the calm moments leading up to Kabosu's death.

“Last night, as usual, (Kabosu) ate rice and drank lots of water too. From the window, soft light shone in, outside the window the birds were singing in the beautiful morning, while I was stroking him like he was sleeping, he died peacefully,” the announcement read.
