Maruarar Wants to Increase Prizes for 2024 President’s Cup Winners

Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – The Chairman of the Steering Committee of the 2024 President’s Cup, Maruarar Sirait, intends to increase the prize for the winner of the soccer tournament. Although he did not specifically mention the amount of the prize that the winning team of the 2024 President’s Cup will receive, Maruarar said it could be realized due to the increase in funds coming in from sponsors.

“Earlier I asked for it to be calculated, I will increase the prize for the winner because the number of sponsors is increasing, so we as the committee have to… fair“So later the club will be more enthusiastic, the players will be more enthusiastic,” said the figure who is familiarly called Ara to reporters at the I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Gianyar, Friday (26/7/2024) evening.

“There are many sponsors, yes of course we have to increase the prizes, not reduce them, but add them. We are increasing the prizes now because while playing, sponsors keep coming,” he added.

In the 2022 President’s Cup, the prize for the champion team is IDR 3 billion. Meanwhile, from previous information, the prize for the 2024 President’s Cup champion team is worth IDR 5 billion, the second-placed team gets IDR 2.5 billion, the third-placed team receives IDR 1.5 billion, and the fourth-placed team gets IDR 1 billion.

“(Sponsorship) is already Rp 68 billion, I am sure it will increase in the next few days. Why can’t there be APBN, BUMN, because if the sports industry must come from the private sector,” he explained.

“Initially 48 (billion) now it has become 68, from there it proves that the positive dynamics of the football ecosystem are happening. Because there is a good PSSI, there is a good president, there is a World Cup, and achievements are getting better,” said the Gerindra politician.

The 2024 President’s Cup has entered the final round of the knockout phase. Two teams from Group A, namely Borneo and Persis Solo, have confirmed their progress to the semifinals, while from Group B, although until this news was written the match between Bali United and Persija Jakarta was still ongoing, but Macan Kemayoran and Arema FC were confirmed to advance to the top four.

The remaining matches of the 2024 President’s Cup will be played at Manahan Stadium, Solo. The two semifinal matches will take place on Tuesday (30/7/2024) and Wednesday (31/7/2024). The match for third place will take place on Saturday (3/8/2024), and the final match will take place on Sunday (4/8/2024).
