Yeosu, Beritasatu.com – Indonesian men’s doubles, Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto won a ticket to the 2023 Korea Open final. Fajar/Rian’s move was confirmed after defeating the host pair, Kang Min Hyuk/Seo Seung Jae in the semifinals, 17-21, 21-16, 21-18 at Jinnam Stadium, Saturday (22/7/2023).

Fajar admitted that he was happy with this victory, especially when it was achieved by defeating the opponent who was the host. However, he said the struggle was not over.

“First of all, thank God, it feels great to be back in the final after the last time at the All England. But it’s not over yet because tomorrow there’s still the final,” said Fajar after the match.

“It’s extraordinary to be able to avenge the defeat in front of their own public. We didn’t only fight the Korean pair but also all the home fans who came to support,” he continued.

Fajar added that confidence was the key to winning the third game, even though he had fallen behind before. “We try to continue with a pattern of attack but measured. It’s safer,” he added.

In the same vein, Rian acknowledged that the Korean pair had a tight defense that was difficult to penetrate. “We don’t want to give up, keep looking for ways to dismantle their defense. From the start our opponents weren’t easy and our punches didn’t quite fit, but today it’s getting better,” said Rian.

Regarding the final match against the Indian pair, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/Chirag Shetty, Sunday (23/7/2023), Fajar emphasized the importance of physical and mental readiness.
