Ester Nurumi was nervous about playing in the deciding party

Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – Women's singles Ester Nurumi Tri Wardoyo admitted that she was nervous because she appeared in the match that decided Indonesia's victory over Malaysia in the quarter-finals of the 2024 Badminton Asia Team Championships (BATC), Friday (16/2/2023).

Playing in Shah Alam, Malaysia, Indonesia ensured that they would qualify for the 2024 BATC semifinals after beating Malaysia, 3-0. The Red and White Team defeated the hosts thanks to the victory achieved by the three representatives who were fielded in the initial match.

Putri Kusuma Wardani's women's singles beat Karupathevan Letshanaa, 21-12, 18-21, and 21-13. Meanwhile, Lanny Tria Mayasari/Rika Sugiarto's doubles won over Pearly Tan/Thinaah Muralitharan, 21-14, 18-21 and 21-15.

In the third match, Ester Nurumi Tri Wardoyo also contributed points after beating Wong Ling Ching, 14-21, 21-15 and 21-16.

“Proud and happy to win. My victory ensured that Indonesia won 3-0 to advance to the semifinals. Thank you to all friends who are also fighting. I felt nervous earlier because I was playing in the deciding match. “Especially in the third game when I was overtaken by my opponent, I was even more tense,” explained the natural justice Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo.

Ester said that the match against Wong Ling Ching was exciting. He also admitted that in the first game he was still hesitant. However, after that he was able to play better and was able to control his opponent's play in the second game.

“In the third game I was ahead and because I was tense I was chased by my opponent. When I was chasing numbers, I was very tense. Luckily after that I was calmer and was able to win the match. “I focused again on how to play and thank God I was able to get everything out,” he explained.

Ester also thanked her friends who continued to support her from the sidelines. This support made him even more enthusiastic. According to him, even though the opponents were supported by home fans, the support of their colleagues was also no less.

“If we play again in the semifinals tomorrow, I will be ready. It's just that when I'm in the middle of the field I have to be more confident so I don't get nervous. “If I can calm down my game, I can go all out,” Ester hoped.
