Indonesian Coach Reveals the Key to Bodyguard Headquarters for Cambodian Volleyball League Champions

Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – The coach from Indonesia who brought Bodyguard Headquarter to the Cambodian Volleyball League champions, Indra Wahyudi Harahap, revealed the key to his club becoming champions.

In the final match of the Cambodian Volleyball League, Sunday (18/2/2024), Headquarter Bodyguard beat Visakha 3-1 (25-19, 25-20, 21-25, 25-19).

Apart from Indra, there are four Indonesian players who also play for the same team, namely Dio Zulfikri, Doni Haryono, I Gede Wira Yudha, and Luvi Febrian. They joined the club in the Cambodian Volleyball League which took place in mid-January.

This is the first time the Cambodian Volleyball League has been held. However, the enthusiasm of the audience was extraordinary. Every match is always filled with spectators.

“The key to us winning is that we work hard when training and competing. Our players are local players and there are no national teams. They are also inexperienced. Satisfied, of course, can be a champion. However, my journey as a coach is still long. “There are still many shortcomings that need to be corrected,” said Indra, to Beritasatu.com, Wednesday (20/2/2024).

According to Indra, of the eight teams competing in the Cambodian Volleyball League, Visakha was the toughest team to face. “They are filled with national team players, and will appear at the SEA Games next year,” said the assistant to the Indonesian national team at the 2023 SEA Games.

The teams competing in the Cambodian Volleyball League rely on foreign players from Vietnam and Cuba. Each can field three foreign players per match.

Apart from bringing their team to victory, two of the four Indonesian overseas volleyball players also won personal titles in the Cambodian Volleyball League.

Luvi Febrian won the best outside hitter title, and Dio Zulfikri was awarded the best setter.

“The Cambodian government's attention to volleyball is very big. Those of us who became champions received an award from the prime minister of Cambodia. “We were invited to his office,” said Indra Wahyudi.

According to Indra, the government, players, clubs and also the Cambodian people really appreciate players from Indonesia.

“There was a ceremony when the prime minister gave the award. “We are honored by this award,” said the libero who led Jakarta Elektrik PLN to win the 2015 Proliga.
